Custom Truck Accessories started in Reno, Nevada in June of 1983. Initially named Custom Tops, it opened as a camper shell lot — stocking over 300 shells and ordering truckloads weekly. That volume made Custom Tops the number one lot with LEER Truck Caps year after year.
In September 1993, the name changed to CTA — short for Custom Truck Accessories — reflecting a business that had grown far beyond shells. Working alongside customers, manufacturers, and local dealers, CTA evolved to cover every aspect of truck customization: lifts, wheels, tonneau covers, performance, interior, towing, and more.
Today, CTA operates three locations across Reno and Carson City — including a dedicated Truck Camper Center — with over 100 combined years of technician experience. As a Dolan Auto Group company, CTA combines the trust and backing of a major regional auto group with the hands-on expertise that only 40+ years of specialization can deliver.
As a Dolan Auto Group company, CTA carries the same commitment to quality, transparency, and community that Dolan has built its reputation on across Northern Nevada.
This partnership means access to better resources, deeper inventory, and the confidence that comes with buying from a company that stands behind every product and every install.
Visit DolanAutoGroup.comWe hold certifications and dealer designations that most truck accessory shops in Nevada don't. LEER Platinum Dealer status places us among LEER's highest-volume and highest-quality dealers in the country — it's not a designation that comes automatically, and it means our staff has been trained directly by LEER on product knowledge and installation. Thule 5-Star Master Dealer status at our Reno location reflects our volume and installation quality with Thule's full product line, from roof bars to cargo boxes to sport carriers.
We're an authorized DECKED dealer and installer, an authorized Katzkin leather installer, and a PPG SPI FMJ and Rhino Linings authorized applicator at our respective locations. These aren't partnerships we take lightly — the brands we install professionally have trained our team and hold us to installation standards. When you bring your truck to us, you're getting people who have been certified on the products they're installing, not employees following a YouTube tutorial.
