If you've ever driven a forest service road after dark or turned onto a rural Nevada highway with nothing but stock headlights, you know exactly what the market for auxiliary lighting is about. Modern LED lighting has gotten significantly better and more affordable over the last decade — what used to require a serious budget is now accessible for most builds. We carry the brands that stand behind their products and install them correctly.

Rigid Industries

Rigid is one of the most recognized names in off-road lighting and for good reason. Their D-Series pods and E-Series light bars are used extensively in professional off-road racing and in the field by search and rescue teams. The optics are excellent — Rigid designs their own LED chips and lenses rather than using generic components — and the build quality holds up to serious vibration and water exposure. Their Adapt XE series adds active arc technology that automatically adjusts beam pattern for different situations. If you want the best and plan to use the lights hard, Rigid is our first recommendation.

KC HiLiTES

KC has been making off-road lights since 1970 and they've earned their reputation the old-fashioned way. Their Gravity LED Pro series and FLEX ERA lights are well-regarded for reliability and output. KC is particularly popular for Jeep and older 4x4 builds where the round light aesthetic fits the character of the vehicle. They're American-made and back their products with a solid warranty.

Baja Designs

Baja Designs is the choice for buyers who take lighting seriously. Their lights are used by Baja 1000 teams and military contractors — that's not marketing, that's the actual customer list. The Squadron Sport and LP9 series are their most popular products for street and trail use. Baja Designs builds their lights for sustained high-output use rather than just peak performance numbers on a spec sheet, which matters when you're spending hours on a night run rather than a few minutes in a parking lot.

Choosing the Right Setup

Light bars work well for broad forward illumination — good for high-speed desert driving where you want to light up a wide field in front of the vehicle. Pods give you more flexibility to aim light exactly where you need it, whether that's spot-focused for distance or flood-spread for close-in work around camp. Rock lights mount under the vehicle and illuminate the ground directly below the truck, which is useful for technical rock crawling where you need to see exactly where your tires are landing.

Most builds we see combine a light bar for primary forward lighting with a pair of pods for corners and approach angles. Your driving style, the terrain you cover, and your budget all factor into what makes sense. Come in and we'll talk through it.

Legal Notes for Nevada

Nevada law restricts the use of auxiliary lighting on public roads — most forward-facing light bars can only be used off-road or on unlit dirt roads, not on public highways. This is consistent across most western states. All lighting we install is wired with the appropriate switches to keep you legal. We'll cover Nevada use requirements when we go over your install.

Professional Installation

Mounting location, wiring gauge, relay setup, and switch placement all affect how well your lighting system performs and how long it lasts. We've installed enough lighting to know what causes problems down the road — undersized wire, poor grounds, vibration-prone mounting positions — and we build installs that hold up. We handle full wiring to the battery, relay installation, and cab-mounted switch integration at both locations.

Frequently Asked Questions

How bright is too bright for street use?

Any forward-facing auxiliary light that could blind oncoming drivers is restricted to off-road or unlit road use under Nevada law. This includes most light bars over a certain output. We install all lighting with proper switches and will walk you through what can be on versus off when you're on a public road.

Can I wire lighting myself and just have you install the mounts?

We can do partial installs, but we strongly recommend letting us handle the wiring as well. Poor wiring is the most common cause of lighting failures and electrical issues. A proper relay setup protects your truck's electrical system and ensures the lights work reliably.

What's the difference between spot and flood beam patterns?

Spot beams concentrate light in a narrow, long-range column — good for high-speed driving and seeing obstacles at distance. Flood beams spread light wide and close — better for camp lighting, rock crawling, and seeing the sides of the trail. Most of our customers use a combination of both.

Interested in Lighting?

Come in or call either location to talk through your lighting build. We'll look at your truck, understand how you use it, and put together a system that actually makes sense.
